Hollie's Self-Care Tip

Know how your body and your mind respond to stress and  then how you can counteract or best work with that. For Hollie it's exercise particularly boxing and running. Also practice mindfulness by observing your thoughts and feelings, and make sure you take time away before you really need it!

Loved this ep! Will take away the comment: “always have the family in the back of your pocket” – and I really hope that we do have the next generation of women questioning societal expectations re body image. Thanks for a great podcast 🙂

Glad to hear it Molly! We’re so lucky to get this advice and hopefully avoid some of the common challenges early career psychologists face, or at least be a little better prepared for them!
      Thanks for the feedback 🙂

I listened to this episode when it first came out, and found it so inspiring. Months down the track, I’ve just listened again looking for some confidence before interviews for clinical masters – cannot thank you enough for starting up this podcast and giving such valuable information to those of us studying hoping to enter the field. I really look forward to each new podcast, and just wanted to let you know it’s been SO helpful and inspiring for me 🙂

Listening your conversations with all the amazing psychologists who have share their journey of going through studying and working in the fields of psychology, is so informative, helpful and motivating me to continue getting out there, continue learning and developing my practical skills despite hard and challenging process we have to go through in becoming a psychologist.

    Hi Amy!

I have recently discovered the podcast and I am loving it! I am finishing 2nd year of the batchelor in psychology from the university of Barcelona (online). I started when i lived in Spain but now I live in Australia. I was planing on doing the clinical master here after my honors overseas but now thanks to the podcast I am aware of the challenges people go through to find placements. Do you think it would be beneficial to finish my batchelor in an Australian University? Also could you do a podcast on what to do after finishing your psychology degree? I would love to hear tips and advise on placements, the different paths to be a registered psychologist and even the different working fields possible.
Thank you sooo much for your time on helping us students! It is very useful 🙂
